CHESTER, N.J.– Pets and their people will be lining up to celebrate the grand opening of Pet Supplies Plus, America’s favorite community pet store, for food,  toys, supplies and more. Located at 213 U.S. Route 206 in the Chester Springs Shopping Mall in Chester, N.J., the newly opened Pet Supplies Plus is inviting the community to celebrate grand opening events scheduled for January 30 - 31.

Pet Supplies Plus of Chester offers a broad range of pet food—from natural and holistic foods to popular grocery brands--as well as a wide variety of pet toys, supplies, fish and critters. Additionally, the new neighborhood pet store carries an extensive variety of Made in the USA pet consumables such as wet and dry food, treats, rawhide, chews and more at a great value. The spacious, 8,800-square-foot store also features a self-service dog wash and a cage free environment to lodge and feature cats for adoption.

To mark Pet Supplies Plus’ official entrance into Chester, store owner Wade Deffenbaugh is inviting families and their four-legged friends to a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Jan. 30 and Sunday, Jan. 31. Festivities will include celebration sale prices, a Pets & People Pizza “Pawty,” dog-friendly cake, free dog washes and nail trims, giveaways and fun for kids and pets. On Saturday, everyone will receive a free scratch card with purchase, valued up to $50. On Sunday, the first 100 neighbors will receive a free bag of dog or cat food.

“We understand pets own their people and offer a neighborly, petcentric and knowledgeable environment for pet parents to find everything they need for their animal companions,” said owner Wade Deffenbaugh.

Deffenbaugh, a Basking Ridge resident, left his corporate career as a partner with a Big 4 accounting firm to pursue his dream of owning an independent business. A pet retail store would allow him to combine business with his passion for pets. The pet industry continues to grow with American consumers spending over $58 billion annually on their pets.

“I grew up with pets and have been an animal lover all my life,” continued Deffenbaugh. “Pet parents want the best for their animal companions, a quality shopping experience, and good value when shopping for food, toys and necessities. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Chester community and getting to know all the neighborhood pets and their people by name.”

Pet Supplies Plus maintains a professional, experienced and knowledgeable local team. Their extensive training ensures that all team members are able to answer a broad range of questions about household pets from dogs and cats to reptiles and fish--and are experts in natural and holistic foods. Shoppers can also take advantage of the free Preferred Pet Club, which offers members the benefit of regular coupons and monthly specials, resulting in big savings.

Pets are always welcome in the store, especially in the self-service dog wash area featuring comfortable stations that are fully equipped with tubs, hoses, shampoos, hair dryers and towels.

Founded on the belief that convenient, quality service for busy consumers was lacking in the pet industry, retail veterans, Jack Berry and Harry Shallop, opened the first Pet Supplies Plus in Redford, Michigan in 1988. Since then, the neighborhood-style pet store has become a household name in 26 states.
