BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ Bernards Township police this week released a report of a home and vehicle burglaries, as well as a continuation of thefts and vandalism against political signs.
_ On Sept. 14, a resident of the 40 block of Dryden Road reported they had discovered their home had been burglarized, and a large sum of cash and jewelry had been taken, police said. The resident said that upon returning to their residence at approximately 9 p.m. that day, they noticed an unsecured door to their garage. Upon entering the home, the occupants realized they were the victim of a burglary, according to police.
Almost every room in the house was ransacked, police reported. A safe containing important pedigree information was also removed from the residence, according to the police report.
_ On Sept. 17, a resident reported that a vehicle parked in their driveway at 58 High Meadow Lane had three windows smashed in, and the glove box and center console had been rifled through, police reported. Police said it is unknown at this time if anything had been taken.
Police also reported a string of thefts and vandalism to signs displaying political signs, as well as Blue Lives Matter signs.
_ On Sept. 3, a resident of the 200 block of South Maple Ave, reported that an unknown person or persons stole an American flag yard sign, police said. The sign had a depiction of the American Flag with the words “In Our America” on it. The sign cost approximately $5.
_ On Sept. 9, a resident of the 20 block of Sentinel Drive reported that a “Blue Lives Matter” sign had been stolen from their lawn. The approximate cost of the sign was allegedly $20, the report said.
_ On Sept. 9, a resident from the 10 block of Sentinel Drive reported that a “Blue Lives Matter” sign had been stolen from their lawn, the report said. This sign was estimated at $10.
_ On Sept. 13, a resident of the 150 block of South Alward Avenue reported the theft of two political signs. The signs depicting the names “Chadda and Sandler”, both of whom are running for Township Committee, and had an approximate cost of $30, the report said.
_ On Sept. 18, a resident of the 10 block of Rocky Lane reported criminal mischief in front of the house, police said. An unknown person or persons reportedly spray painted an anarchy symbol and the word “Nasj” in the street.
_ On Sept. 20, a resident of the 100 block of Washington Ave reported that a “Biden for President” flag had been stolen, the report said. The estimated value was approximately $9.
_ On Sept. 20, a resident of the 10 Block of Walnut Circle reported the theft of a “Biden 2020” lawn sign had been taken, police said. The estimated value was approximately $25, the report said.
