Bernards School Board Incumbents to be Sworn in At Reorganization Next Week

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Three incumbent board members will be sworn into new three-year terms at the township Board of Education meeting scheduled for next week. Board member Michael Byrne, the longest-serving township board member, will be sworn in along with Karen Gray and Rhonda Dunten, who will be sworn into their first full terms on the school board.

The board's reorganization meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Ridge High School, 268 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge.

Board members also will select a board president and vice-president for 2017.

The three board members ran unopposed for re-election on the November ballot.

Once sworn in again, Byrne will be closing in on his 30th year on the board.

Gray was appointed to fill a vacancy on the board in summer 2014. She was elected to fill a two-year unexpired term, and sworn in on Jan. 5, 2015.

Dunten was appointed to fill a vacancy in January 2016 to fill an 11-month vacancy.
