Municipal budget presentation scheduled for Tues. night

The Bernards Township Committee is scheduled to meet at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the main meeting room/courtroom at the town hall, 1 Collyer Lane in Basking Ridge.

The agenda already posted on the township website includes the presentation and introduction of the 2017 municipal budget.

If adopted as proposed, the total $38,096,176.64 municipal budget for 2017 would add another $24.39 onto the average township home, which this year is assessed at $627,418.

A public hearing on the this year's budget is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11. The Township Committee is also scheduled to vote that night on adoption of a final budget.

Other items on the Township Committee agenda include resolutions commending winners of the mayor's arts awards; appropriation of $280,000 of funds set aside for various capital improvement projects; and more.
