BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ _ Three candidates competing for one seat on the Bernards Township Committee are set to present their views and answer questions at a forum scheduled for 7 p.m. this Thursday at the Performing Arts Center at Ridge High School.

The candidates are Democrat Sophia Chadda, Republican Janice Fields, and Independent Todd Edelstein.

The forum will be conducted by the League of Women Voters, together with members of the Ridge High School Student Government Association and Ridge High School Empowerment for Political Participation (REPP).

The candidates for the position have agreed to participate.

The candidates, all newcomers, are competing for one three-year term on the five-member Bernards Township Committee. The incumbent, Republican Carol Bianchi, declined to seek re-election.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Ridge High School is at 268 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge.
