BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ - If the mid-summer doldrums have already left some with too much free time looking for things to do, the Bernards Township Library is offering the following activities for Wednesday, July 11:
Drop In Crafts for all ages from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Program Room B. Get creative. It's craft time at the library. All materials are provided, and no registration is required.
Teen Short Story Workshop, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Technology Center. Young Adult Fantasy author Stacey Wilk will be on hand to help students learn about story writing. She will give students a primer on plot, character, conflict, point of view, setting, and structure.
This workshop series is geared toward individuals who plan to participate in the Suzanne Cutler Teen Creative Writing Contest at the Bernards Township Library, the Morristown Festival of Books 'Flash Fiction' Writing Contest, or any one interested in writing short stories.
On her website, Wilk says, "The heart of all my books, regardless of genre, is the message: Family are the people who love you when you need them whether you’re born to that family or find them along the way.
Workshops will take place on July 11, July 25, and Aug. 8. Each workshop session will leave time for writing and review.
