BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ It wouldn't be summer without the summer reading program at the Basking Ridge Library _ and this year the library again is offering reading and book discussion activities for children, teens and adults.

The theme for this year's summer reading program is "Libraries Rock!" The Bernards Township Library is located at 32 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge.

Summer reading kickoff is Thursday, June 21

The kids' program is full of events, The kickoff for the summer reading program will be a family-fun evening with Jester Jim, scheduled for 7 to 7:45 p.m. next Thursday, June 21, in the program rooms at the library. No registration is required for the program, which is funded by The Friends of the Bernards Township Library. 

Jester Jim is an acclaimed juggler, beatboxer and comedian.

Sign-ups for the "Libraries Rock!" program will continue through Aug. 4. Each child will receive a reading log in which to keep track of their reading and earn rewards. Reading can be done anywhere.

The summer reading list for Bernards Township students at the William Annin Middle School and Ridge High School also is online on the library website.

The library also holds adult book discussion groups in both the evening and daytimes.
