CRANFORD, NJ - Ryan Bakie scored the game's last seven points, including a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 12 seconds left that gave Cranford a 58-57 boys basketball victory over Ridge Tuesday night.

Ridge (10-14), which led by 13 points in the first quarter, went scoreless over the game's final two minutes, when Bakie, who led Cranford (10-13) with 21 points, rallied the Cougars from a 57-51 deficit, sinking a layup with 1:57 left and then scoring off his own steal with 33 seconds left to draw Cranford within two, 57-55.

Ridge missed a 3-pointer from the corner just before time ran out.

Curtis Lyons led Ridge with 23 points and Chris Feringa scored 20 and grabbed eight rebounds. Chris Librera had 19 points and eight rebounds for Cranford.

Ridge center Jeremy McCavera was hampered by foul trouble throughout the game. He had three fouls by halftime, which limited his playing time throughout the second half and cost Ridge a valuable interior presence, which Cranford particularly exploited with the array of aggressive moves around the basket offered by Librera, the Cougars' top scorer on the season with 18.6 points per game.

Ridge had the better of the play early in the game, jumping out to a 15-2 lead. Feringa had seven of his points in the opening quarter. The Cougars closed to within five at halftime and one by the end of the third quarter. The game was tied twice in the fourth quarter before the Red Devils gained apparent control on Aidan Murphy's 3-pointer with 2:11 left, giving Ridge a 57-51 lead. But the Somerset County team would not score again.

Murphy finished with 11 points and eight rebounds in the loss. McCavera grabbed seven rebounds in limited action. Kyle Ledford totaled 10 points and six rebounds for the Cougars. Brian Oblachinski had six assists for Cranford. Alex Alano handed out five assists for Ridge.
