HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - The Ridge boys basketball team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Somerset County Tournament with a 63-50 victory over Hillsborough Tuesday night.

Ninth-seeded Ridge (10-12) outscored the eighth-seeded Raiders in every quarter, opening with an 11-4 effort and building a 26-18 lead by halftime.

Junior forward Jeremy McCavera finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 10 steals for the Red Devils, who will play top-seeded Gill-St. Bernard's Thursday night in Peapack-Gladstone in the quarterfinals.

Curtis Lyons scored 13 points and Chris Feringa finished with 10 points for Ridge, which had split two regular season meetings with Hillsborough (7-14).
