UNION, NJ - The Ridge boys basketball team continued its improved play with a 39-38 victory over Colonia Sunday night at Kean University.

Jacob Herrera scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Ridge, and Chris Feringa chipped in with nine points in the victory. Herrera's 3-pointer with 42 seconds left gave Ridge the 39-38 lead. Colonia led by eight points after three quarters, but Ridge held the Patriots scoreless over the final 3:15.

It was the third consecutive victory for the Red Devils, who began the season 1-8 but have now clawed their way back to a 4-8 mark. Ridge's next game should provide a stern test of how much the team has improved, as the Red Devils will take on highly regarded Gill-St. Bernard's on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Gill-St. Bernard's defeated Ridge, 63-48, on Dec. 20. Colonia's record is 5-6.
