BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Ridge High School boys lacrosse team got its season off to a winning start with a 9-2 victory over Hopewell Valley Wednesday afternoon.

Ridge had a 3-0 halftime lead and then outscored the Mercer County visitors, 4-2, in the third period to open a 7-2 lead.

Bryce Kirkwood finished with four goals and Will Burckley had four assists to go with a single goal for the Red Devils, who outshot Hopewell Valley, 28-7. Alex Choy scored a pair of goals, and Ted Kapp and Daniel Comperiati each netted one goal in the victory.

Michael Harris stopped five shots in goal for Ridge.
