BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Ridge boys lacrosse team had no problem handling West Orange in the opening round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 4 state tournament on Wednersday, winning, 19-3.

Ridge (12-4) started fast, grabbing a 9-0 lead after one quarter. Ted Kapp scored four goals and gave three assists for the Red Devils, who got two goals apiece from Dan Skea, Jake Olmstead, Griffin Ngai and Jake Hoffman.

Although he did not score, Bryce Kirkwood had a big impact on the Ridge offense with three assists. Michael Harris made five saves.

Ridge advances to host Watchung Hills in the second round on Saturday.
