BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Somerset County Department of Health reported a total of 3,864 coronavirus cases on Friday, an increase of 14 overnight.
There were 237 cases in Bernards Township on Friday, with one new case reported overnight. There have been 390 deaths in Somerset County attributed to the coronavirus.
Statewide, there have been 152,719 cases, an increase of 1,247 overnight, with 10,985 deaths reported, according to the State Department of Health. Friday was the 17th consecutive day that the daily total of new COVID-19 cases in the state was less than 2,000.
The New Jersey Department of Health reported that 3,049 patients were hospitalized with confirmed or suspected coronavirus cases as of Thursday night. That is 62 percent fewer patients in the hospital for COVID-19 than the peak in mid-April, when there were 8,084 hospitalizations due to the coronavirus in New Jersey.
