Firefighters Escort Santa, in the Nighttime Firefighters Parade in Somerville this Weekend

SOMERVILLE, NJ - Santa will return to the borough again this weekend, escorted into town by hundreds of firefighters from Somerville and fire departments throughout the state.

The VI annual Nighttime Firefighters’ Parade on Saturday, Dec. 2nd, begins at 6 p.m. down Main Street, featuring fire trucks, first aid rigs and other equipment decorated for Christmas and the holidays..

Firefighters, rescue squads, police departments, Scout groups, civic organizations, churches and schools across New Jersey are invited to participate in the parade. Staging begins at 2 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Drive East, adjacent to the Engine Co. #1, 170 E. Main St.

The parade will wind its way through side streets in the borough before returning to Engine Co. #1 where hot chocolate will be served and winners will be announced.

Dozens of trophies will be awarded in several categories, and residents who decorate their homes and host parties are also eligible to win prizes.
