Susan G. Komen North Jersey, along with former New York Giant, Charles Way and his wife Tahesha Way, Miss New Jersey USA, Mrs. New Jersey America and Students for the Cure Jr. Chair, Mady are asking their supporters to join them to help kick off October, which is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by making a donation and committing to be More Than Pink.

So often, Breast Cancer Awareness Month becomes about a color and not about the actions needed to find the cures for breast cancer,” explains Komen North Jersey Executive Director Kelly Witkowski. “We love that people wear pink, but this year we want to turn awareness into more action. We want you to be bolder and have a bigger impact on the fight to end breast cancer forever. We want you to be More Than Pink.”

This year Komen North Jersey is asking their supporters to make a financial contribution to help get them to their goal of reducing the number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the next 10 years.

In honor of their coming 20th Anniversary Komen North Jersey is asking for supporters to make a donation of as little as $20. “There are many committed supporters who don’t always donate because they feel they can’t give what would be a significant amount,” Witkowski notes, “but I want everyone to know that every dollar counts and does make a difference. When we come together in small ways, big goals can be achieved.”

Join Susan G. Komen this Thursday; you can give at komennorthjersey.org/donate. Be More Than Pink.
