BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge football team rolled to a 35-7 homecoming victory over Franklin on Friday night.

After facing undefeated teams on the road in each of the previous two Friday nights, the Red Devils (4-1) showed no signs of a letdown, although Franklin battled them to a 7-7 tie after one quarter.

Luke Roberts returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a touchdown and caught two TD passes from Brendan Bell.

Fullback Christian Sweeney's 3-yard TD run and Jake Beckman's PAT in the second quarter gave Ridge a 14-7 lead. Bell's 19-yard TD pass to Jake Hoffman on a play-action pass boosted the advantage to 21-7 before halftime.

Ridge scored all its points in the first three quarters. Bell threw TD passes of 52 and 21 yards to Bell in the third quarter to cap the scoring.

The Red Devils will host Elizabeth next Friday night.
