Football: Watchung Hills Second-Half Rally Drops Ridge, 31-21

BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Watchung Hills rallied from an 11-point deficit with three unanswered touchdowns in the second half to defeat Ridge, 31-21, in the regular-season finale for both teams Friday night.

Ridge (4-5) led, 21-10, early in the third quarter before Watchung Hills scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and another in the fourth quarter.

Ridge took a 7-3 lead on Nolan Haddad's 5-yard TD run on the opening play of the second quarter and Nolan Hughes' PAT. After the Warriors briefly regained the lead, 10-7, Ridge came back to grab a 14-10 advantage on a TD pass from Wesley Hudkins to Andrew Lusardi before halftime.

The Red Devils extended their lead to 21-10 when Haddad scored early in the third period on a 10-yard TD run. Haddad had 37 yards on five carries. RJ Milligan led Ridge on the ground with 68 yards on 10 carries. Hudkins was 9-for-18 for 77 yards through the air.

Ridge will await confirmation of its playoff status. The Red Devils are likely to have a first-round Section 2, Group 5 playoff game next Friday or Saturday.
