BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable will host a Gail M. Field Centered Riding Clinic at the Somerset County Park Commission facility at 256 South Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge. The sessions will run from Friday, Aug. 25 to Sunday, Aug. 27.
Gail Field is a Riding and Horse Care Instructor from Long Island, New York. She holds a British Horse Society Instructor Certificate in addition to certification from the American Riding Instructors program. Gail is a Level IV Centered Riding Instructor and has extensive Alexander Method background. She is a member of the Board of Centered Riding, Inc.
Centered Riding Lessons and Clinics include application of classical principles of riding and training through the use of body awareness, entering and imagery that encompass all horsemanship disciplines, interests, seats and styles of riding. The program also focuses on communication between horse, rider and instructor, improving confidence and comfort, to help riders achieve their personal best, in harmony with their horses.
The Clinic includes half-day groundwork on Friday; daily one-hour groundwork on Saturday and Sunday; and daily one-and-a-half-hour lesson Saturday & Sunday. The program is open to all riders at Beginner 3/D-3 level and higher; private horse owners are also welcome.
The fee for the three-day sessions is $295 for FLSS members and $320 for non-members. The fee for the Saturday/Sunday sessions is $250 for Friends members and $275 for non-members. Fee includes membership to the Friends of Lord Stirling Stable organization. Lunch is available for an additional $5 per day. Mail-in registration is open until Wednesday, August 16, 2017. The Friends of Lord Stirling Stable is a 501(c)(3) formed in 1984 with a membership of 250. This group of equine enthusiasts lend their support, ideas, time and fund-raising efforts to provide a continuing and expanding program of activities at the Stable. New members are always welcome.
