PEAPACK-GLADSTONE, NJ -- The Ridge girls basketball team, playing without senior point guard Sophie Beneventine, went on the road and advanced past Gill-St. Bernard's with a 41-34 victory in the quarterfinal round of the Somerset County Tournament on Tuesday.

Senior guard Taylor Smith scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for fifth-seeded Ridge (19-6), which outscored Gill, 19-12, in the fourth quarter to seal the deal. Ridge led, 17-12, at the half.

Ridge got seven points from Carly Cambria and seven rebounds from Lauren Feldman. The Red Devils will play top-seeded Rutgers Prep in the SCT semifinals Thursday night.
