BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge girls lacrosse team exploded out to a 12-goal lead by halftime on its way to a 17-3 victory over Columbia in the quarterfinal round of the Section 2, Group 4 state tournament on Friday.

Grace Kirkwood and Bailey Aaron scored five goals apiece for the Red Devils (13-4), who led, 13-1, at the half. Aaron also had a team-leading five draw controls.

Taylor Smith scored three goals, Kate Pesarchick scored two and Allie Byrne and Bella Lembo each scored one goal for Ridge. Splitting time in goal for Ridge were Emily Schmitt (four saves) and Emma Albee (three saves).
