BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Mena Loescher scored five goals and assisted on two others to lead Ridge to a 12-10 girls lacrosse victory over Mt. St. Mary on opening day Thursday.

Grace Kirkwood scored four goals for the Red Devils, who pulled away from a halftime deadlock by outscoring Mt. St. Mary, 5-3, in the second half.

Kerry Cassidy finished with a goal and two assists, and Bea Behrins and Georgia Pesot each scored one goal, and Emma Wightman chipped in with one assist for Ridge, which will host Somerville Saturday at 10 a.m. in its next game.
