Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I am honored to announce that today, in Trenton, Planned Parenthood of New Jersey endorsed my candidacy for State Legislature. Before a pink-clad crowd, I proudly stood alongside Democratic candidate for Governor Phil Murphy; Assemblywoman Liz Muoio and Assemblyman Troy Singleton as Christine Sadovy, Legislative and Political Director Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey announced the organization's support of our campaigns. I am very grateful for this vote of confidence.

As I spoke the crowd, I used the opportunity to recall my own visit to a New Jersey Planned Parenthood center as a young woman seeking birth control.  Today, I vow to do everything in my power as a legislator to support funding for women’s reproductive healthcare.   I will work every day to ensure Planned Parenthood has what it needs to protect our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends, to save lives, and to help 17-year-old girls — like me — create the lives they want.

Planned Parenthood has been a stalwart and trusted provider of reproductive health care, sex education, family planning services and cancer screenings in New Jersey for the past 100 years.

I could not be more proud to support the work that they do to promote the creation of responsible, healthy, and stable families.

My opponents stood by for the past seven years as the Christie Administration decided to play politics with women’s health, removing funding for Planned Parenthood from our state’s budget.

If you feel as I do that we need to support women in their efforts to control their reproductive lives, make your vote count November 7th.

Lacey Rzeszowski is the Democratic Candidate for State Assembly in the New Jersey's 21st Legislative District.
