BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Princeton scored a goal late in the third period, then broke the tie in overtime to take a 4-3 ice hockey victory from Ridge in the quarterfinal round of the Public B state tournament on Monday.
Ridge (16-5-7) took a 1-0 lead on Connor Villa's goal with an assist from Liam Tormey with 12:38 left in the first period.
The Red Devils surrendered the next two goals before tying the game on Tyler Ebeling's tally with 2:59 left in the second period, when Alex Konovalov supplied the first of his two assists. The other came on Luke Rich's goal with 11:41 to go in the third period, which gave Ridge a short-lived 3-2 lead.
Princeton (18-8-2) tied the game, 3-3, with 6:32 left in the third period, and won with 14:40 showing in overtime. Chris Ambrozy made 33 saves for Ridge.
