Ice Hockey: Ridge Bombards Marlboro, 10-3, in First Round of States

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Liam Tormey scored three goals and had one assist as Ridge advanced in the first round of the NJSIAA Public A state ice hockey tournament with a 10-3 victory over Marlboro Tuesday.

Alex Konovalov finished with two goals and three assists for Ridge, which built a 5-1 lead in the first period. Jack Mandala and John Vilade each had two goals and two assists.

Wes Hobson scored a goal and Ted Kapp and Dan Knightly each had two assists in the victory. Ridge (19-6-1) outshot Marlboro, 29-8.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS—Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts (WIPA) will host a Summer Open House on Friday, June 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will be held at the Performing Arts School located at 60 Locust Avenue in Berkeley Heights.
