BERNARDS TWP., NJ - On Thursday, Feb. 4, kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year will be held for children who will be entering one of the township's four elementary schools this September. Incoming students must turn five years old on or before October 1, 2016, to be eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall.

Kndergarten registration is scheduled on that date between 2 to 6 p.m. at Cedar Hill, Liberty Corner and Mount Prospect elementary schools. Registration at the Oak Street Elementary School is scheduled between 9 to 11 a.m., and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Families not sure of the elementary school their future kindergarten student should refer to the Districting guide on the school website.

Parents do not have to bring the child who will be entering to the registration.

A completed physical examination form must be provided at the time of registration. If the child being registered is not scheduled for his or her annual physical examination until after this February 4, parents should ask the child's physician to fill out the medical form for the child’s last exam. Parents then would be responsible for submitting an updated medical form before the beginning of the new school year.

Parents are asked to download registration instructions and forms by clicking on the following link: ation_Directions_Information_and_Forms.pdf

The notice from the Office of the Registrar also includes instructions for registrations of new students at all grade levels.

Your child’s kindergarten registration will not be processed unless all of your paperwork is complete, according to information posted on Tuesday on the Bernards Board of Education website.
