BERNARDS TWP., NJ - THE Liberty Corner Fire Co. will host this year's Memorial Day parade on Monday in Bernards Township, with the parade scheduled to step off at 9:30 a.m. sharp from the firehouse at 95 Church St. in Liberty Corner village.
The parade to honor the country's fallen members of the US armed services, as well as recognizing those who are veterans or serving now, will proceed from the firehouse to the Liberty Corner green at the end of Church Street, where a wreath is traditionally placed at the memorial.
In Bernards Township, the Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner fire companies alternate years in which they host the Memorial Day parade in either downtown Basking Ridge or Liberty Corner village.
Local scouting, athletic and civic groups, as well as bands and first responders, march in the parade each year.
Liberty Corner Fire Chief Kenneth White advises people to arrive by 9:15 a.m., since affected roads will be closed off shortly after that time.
Fire Company invites participants back to the firehouse after parade
The all-volunteer Liberty Corner first responders will again be inviting participants and parade-goers to the firehouse afterward for refreshments and a chance to visit their neighbors.
