Long Hill, NJ- The Long Hill Township Library is excited to present Love Letters from Jersey, featuring Gillette resident Jody Mullen, on Sunday, June 14 at 2pm. The concert is free and open to the public. The Long Hill Library is located at 917 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ.

Love Letters from Jersey is Jody’s celebration of vocal artists from the Garden State. The concert features music made famous by Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, Sarah Vaughan, Laura Benanti, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, and many more. While Jody is a soprano from New Jersey, she is not the kind of Soprano who has turned to a life of crime (for the most part.)

Lauded for her acclaimed soprano voice, Jody has performed in exciting venues. In April and May 2015, she debuted her solo show Love Letters from Jersey at Don’t Tell Mama, the legendary cabaret space in midtown Manhattan.

In 2013, Jody was invited to perform solo in New Jersey Performing Arts Center’s Prudential Hall in Newark for the St. Joseph’s Charity Ball, where prominent guests included WABC-TV anchor Lori Stokes and former U.S. Senator Robert Toricelli, among many others. She has appeared as a professional concert artist, recitalist, and entertainer throughout the tri-state area and was recently a semi-finalist in the Teaneck Cabaret Competition.

Jody graduate magna cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she won the Ethel Stone LeFrak Prize in Music for her senior recital of American Songbook literature. She spent two seasons performing with the critically acclaimed NYC-based young artist program dell’Arte Opera Ensemble, for which Meche Kroop of The Opera Insider praised her “fine harmonizing.” She has also served as a professional soprano soloist and section leader at Grace Church Brooklyn Heights under the direction of Paul Richard Olson since 2008.

Despite her deep love for the New Jersey, Jody is a New England transplant, born in Ben & Jerry’s back yard in Burlington, Vermont. She continues to root for the Red Sox here in enemy territory. She lives on top of a mountain (for real) with two handsome blonde men, one very tall and one very small. In addition to performing, she is a freelance writer and voice teacher.

The library is pleased to welcome Jody on Sunday, June 14 at 2pm.
