'Mary Poppins' Chosen for This Year's 'Plays in Park,' Auditions in Spring

BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Basking Ridge-based Trilogy Repertory Company has announced that "Mary Poppins," the Broadway musical, will begin this year's "Plays in the Park" series with eight scheduled performances during July at Pleasant Valley Park.

Auditions for the musical will be held in April, according to the announcement sent out by Trilogy on Monday, Feb. 9.

The production is based on the stories of P. L. Travers and the Walt Disney film.

Each summer,  "Plays in the Park" are presented by local and regional thespians in cooperation with the Bernards Township Department of Parks and Recreation.

The free plays (donations accepted) are staged at the outdoor amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park, 3405 Valley Road, Basking Ridge.

"Mary Poppins" is scheduled to be performed over three weeks, on July 10-11; 16, 17 and 18; and 23, 24 and 25.
