BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Molly McEnroe, a 2018 graduate from Ridge High School, was presented with the Ruth Award by Patricia Colbert, a member of the Board of the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC), at the high school’s Senior Awards Assembly on May 29.
The Ruth Award is presented annually to a senior high school student who is an active Morristown Medical Center volunteer and who completes more than 50 hours and six months of consecutive service. McEnroe provided more than 260 hours of service over four years. She plans to pursue a career in nursing based.
The Ruth Award, which is a one-time award of $500 to offset the cost of college tuition, is designed to recognize outstanding service to Morristown Medical Center for "dependability, loyalty and unselfish service to others." The award is named after Ruth Epstein, a WAMMC member and president from 1967-1970.
Senior high school students who volunteer at Morristown Medical Center may choose to complete an award application, along with an essay, for consideration. One winner is selected each year by the Hospital Liaison Committee.
