NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - On September 17, Lantern Hill, a premier Erickson Living Retirement Community in New Providence, New Jersey, hosted an Ice Cream Social and performance by the Morris Music Men on campus. More than 100 residents, family members, friends, and reservists attended the event.
“The Morris Men put on a very entertaining show. They were engaging, talented and even let a few lucky residents conduct,” said Lantern Hill Concierge Caitlin Sendell. “Residents, friends, and reservists had a fantastic time mingling with each other and enjoying the music and delicious ice cream provided by the Friendly’s Ice Cream truck of Morris Plains.”
The Music Men, an intergenerational barbershop group, performed a wide variety of music including “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Breaking Up is Hard to Do.” The group also surprised residents celebrating their birthdays in September with a Happy Birthday serenade.
Sendell said Lantern Hill is a place senior adults can live an exciting retirement where they can enjoy numerous activities on and off-campus. Upcoming events include trips to Grounds for Sculpture and Rat’s Restaurant, a Yankees Game, New York Botanical Garden for the Chihuly exhibit, and Shakespeare in Love at the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey.
Lantern Hill’s scenic 20-acre campus is located in New Providence, New Jersey, approximately 30 miles west of New York City. The independent living community provides a vibrant lifestyle to seniors with abundant amenities including three on-site restaurants, an all-season pool and fitness center, art studio, library, theater, transportation, on-site medical center, 24-hour concierge services and secure underground parking.
