BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- Two Bernards Township teachers submitted retirement notices in the last month.

Fran Calvaruso, a business teacher, will leave Ridge High School at the end of the school year. Tatyana Tadenev, a computer teacher at Oak Street School, will retire effective Sept. 30.

The Board of Education also accepted these resignations, effective at the end of the school year, on Monday, May 6:

  • Anne Bonnefoi, media specialist at Oak Street School;

  • Danielle Carter English language arts teacher; Valerie Nelson, special education BD teacher, and Shane O’Flaherty, an instructional aide, all at William Annin Middle School;

  • Social studies teacher Dennis Drake and Elgen Lewis, a learning disabilities teacher consultant, at Ridge High;

  • Teachers Jessica Karlovich in Grade 5 and Jenna Valentine in Grade 2 at Liberty Corner School.

  • Joanne Zilli, a school aide at Mount Prospect School

On March 25, the board accepted the resignation of Rosemary DeFilippis, a Grade 3 teacher at Cedar Hill School.

It also approved the hired Vandana Thaman as a school aide at Liberty Corner School until the end of the school year.

Childcare leaves were approved for Victoria Daglian, computer teacher at Cedar Hill School, from Sept. 12 to Feb. 3, 2020, and Sheri Smith, Grade 4 teacher at Oak Street School, from Sept. 3 to Feb. 1, 2020.
