BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Final paving was completed on North Maple Avenue on Tuesday, Oct. 4, allowing the road to reopen in both directions for the first time since July, the township announced.

The road was closed from Basking Ridge center north to Madisonville Road to allow the township to install a new sanitary sewer line, starting in mid-July.

Final paving was expected to take place last, but the project was delayed by rain. Nevertheless, township officials issued information that the southbound lane of the road had been opened as of noon on last Friday, Sept. 30.

The township also said that Fieldstone Drive infrastructure repairs will begin on or about Wednesday, October 5. The road will remain open to local traffic during this time, officials said. Milling and paving notices are due to follow.
