BERNARDS TWP., _ Surface course paving is due to take place on Lurline Drive, Beechwood Road, North Brook Avenue and Conklin Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, the township announced. The projects are scheduled to close all or part of the roads.
Lurline Drive will be closed to all traffic from Valley Road to no. 63, according to the townsip. All on-street parking is prohibited within the work area until final paving is complete. Residents are directed to make alternate parking arrangements on the completed sections of Lurline Drive and Hessian Street.
Beechwood Road, North Brook Avenue and Conklin Street are scheduled to be closed and access restricted during those hours, the township said. A tar-like coating will be applied before paving; this can damage vehicles, the township warned.
All on-street parking will be prohibited within the work area until final paving is complete. Residents are asked to make alternate parking arrangements on different sections of Beechwood Road and North Brook Avenue, the township said.
Additional summer construction projects to continue
Drivers are asked to use caution while traveling through all work areas.
Other construction projects that are part of the township's 2018 Road Improvements project are also due to continue on Thursday. Crews also will be working on construction of new granite block curb and sidewalk on Dryden Road. Access to driveways will be restricted for residents on the south side (even house numbers) from nos. 50, 56 and 66 Dryden, as well as by no. 27 Byron. On-street parking is prohibited in the work area, and residents are asked to make alternate parking arrangements on a different section of Dryden Road or Byron Drive.
Work on storm sewer repairs on Marilyn Street are also due to continue on Thursday, and will restrict driveway access between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 25 Marilyn St. On-street parking is prohibited in the work area.
