Ridge Boys Fencing Advances to State Championship Finals

Basking Ridge, NJ- The Ridge boys fencing team rolled to victory in the semi finals of the State Championships against  Millburn on Thursday, February 19.  Millburn started the match with 2 wins in Saber but couldn't stand up to Ridge's dominating foil line of Will Gaziano, Sebastian Tirado, and Cameron Shadpoor;  and epee line of  Felix Yin, Alex Wang, and  Arsalan Husain; who took the next 6 wins bringing the first round score to Ridge 7, Millburn 2.  Ridge continued the onslaught winning 8 out of 9 bouts in the second round and securing the victory at 14-3. Also contributing wins were sabers Brennan Wu, Jacob Klein, and Bobby Ford, and epee fencers Paul Molander and Pulak Raj  bringing the final score to Ridge 18-Milburn 9. Ridge will face Columbia High School  in the State Championship finals on Wednesday February 25 at 6:00 pm at Morris Hills High School.
