Ridge Football Advances with 42-28 Win over Elizabeth

ELIZABETH, NJ - Ben Rengulbai scored four touchdowns and Duncan Roberts completed 11 of 12 passes to steer the Ridge football team to a 42-28 victory over Elizabeth Friday night in the first round of the Section 2, Group 5 playoffs.

Rengulbai rushed for 112 yards on 27 carries to key a ground attack that gained 272 yards on 57 carries with six TDs. Kermit Hoffman had 158 yards of combined offense for the Red Devils (6-4), rushing for 89 yards and two TDs on 16 carries and catching six passes for 69 yards.

Roberts finished with 131 passing yards in his near-perfect display of efficiency. Jake Staples caught two passes for 27 yards.

The score was tied, 21-21, at halftime before Ridge scored a touchdown in the third quarter and ended up outscoring the Minutemen, 21-7, in the second half.

Dan Skea finished with 64 yards on 10 carries for Ridge, which has advanced to meet Bridgewater-Raritan in the second round of the playoffs next weekend.

Bedminster Woman Dies From Injuries After Being Struck by Car at Bridgewater Mall Parking Lot

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Bedminster woman has died from her injuries after being struck by a car in the parking lot of the Bridgewater Commons Mall on Monday.

Marion Kelley, 62, was struck by a vehicle while walking in Lot 4 near the Macy's merchandise pick up area at around 3:20 p.m. Monday.

The 2017 Mazda was driven by Chinmayi Parikh, 33, of Piscataway.
