BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ -- The Ridge girls swim team outscored Bernards, 104-58, and the Ridge boys bested Bernards, 91-66, to wrap up the season on Senior Night on Wednesday.
The girls started strong out of the gate with the team of freshman Emily Wang, junior Maggie Hannis, sophomore Tracy Lu and senior Lucy Hess winning the 200 medley relay. They followed that up by going 1-2-3 in the 200 free with Wang finishing first, junior Zsuzsa Kiss in second and junior Sophie Paul in third. Wang also won the 100 backstroke. Then Hannis won the 200 IM followed by senior Chelsea Lu in second and sophomore Emily Shepard in third.
Tracy Lu won the 100 fly and Kiss finished second. The girls also went 1-2-3 in the 100 free with Lucy Hess winning it, followed by Jacqueline Wilson in second and Maddie Sinofsky in third. Hess also took second in the 50 free. Finally the girls rounded out their win with the team of Hess, Hannis, C. Lu and T. Lu winning the 200 free relay and the team of C. Lu, Paul, Ayla D’Silva and Wang winning the 400 free.
For the Red Devil boys team senior Ethan Chiu started things off with a win in the 200 free with sophomore Andy Moss taking third. Junior AJ Capizzi won the 200 IM and the 100 fly, while senior Chris Fabian won the 50 free and 100 free and junior Marshall Wang placed second in both of those events. Chiu also won the 100 backstroke while sophomore Daniel Xia placed second in the 200 IM and senior Colin Lee-Au placed third in the 100 fly.
Senior Alex Fabiano finished a close second in the 100 breaststroke. Lastly, the boys team of Fabian, Chiu Xia and Capizzi won the 400 free relay and took second in the 200 free relay to round out the evening.
During the mid-point of the meet a break was taken to recognize the graduating seniors from both the Ridge and Bernards teams.
The Ridge girls wrapped up the season with a record 7-5 of and the boys finished with a record of 7-4.
