COLUMBUS, NJ - The Ridge High School girls' and boys' track teams both took first place in the same corresponding event, the 4x800 meter relay, at the NJSIAA Meet of Champions on Saturday at Northern Burlington High School.

In the case of the Ridge girls, the team won the 4x800 meter relay for the third consecutive year. The Ridge girls team of Catherine Giuseffi, Brooke Fazio, Meghan Convery, Kaitlyn Van Baalen, Shayna Bains, Olivia Cicchetti, Emily Hirsch and Shaila Saifee ran a time of 9:11.81 to win the race.

The Ridge boys team of Brett Asay, Patrick Bayeux, Will Phinney, Ryan Orr, Amil Khattar, Matt Mychalowych, Tommy Martinson and Alex Sargen won the 4x800 meter relay with a time of 7:50.20.

Other highlight performances by Ridge girls at the M of C included Fazio finishing fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:11.23 and Jessica Creedon also taking fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:01.40 showing. Creedon was competing in an event won by legendary U.S. Olympian Sydney McLaughlin of Union Catholic, who had a time of 56.97 in the 400 hurdles. Creedon also placed seventh in New Jersey in the high jump at 5:06.00.

Tim Youtkus competed for Ridge in the boys triple jump. His 43-04.00 performance placed him 18th in the event.
