Ridge School District Already Advertising for Replacement for Retiring Ridge Principal

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The Bernards Township School District already has begun advertising for a replacement for Ridge High School Principal Frank Howlett, Jr., who is due to retire at the end of the schoolyear, according to Schools Superintendent Nick Markarian.

Howlett's resignation, effective at the end of the 2016-17 school year, was listed on the Nov. 28 Board of Education agenda, and was was accepted by the board that night.

"We hope to hire  a replacement before the end of this school year," Markarian said in an email on Tuesday in response to questions.

Howlett has been principal at Ridge since 2006, replacing the previous principal Richard Stotler.

Howlett was also previously principal at the William Annin Middle School, Markarian said.

The high school principal's current salary is $167,499, Markarian said in response to a question.
