BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Ridge Rugby is hosting a fundraiser at Friendly’s. The event will be from March 24 -26 from 5–9 p.m. each night. Twenty percent of the sales gathered at the Bernardsville location, 107 Morristown Road, will go to the first-year organization. Those who wish to support the cause must bring the flyer to the restaurant.

Ridge Rugby is a Rugby Union Team for boys who are high school age from Bernards Township. The team is a member of USA Rugby and Rugby New Jersey, which is the youth sanctioning body. It was created thanks to two Ridge sophomores Stephen Rodgers and Joe Sabel.

“This team came from the boys themselves, not from adults. This is truly going to be their team, while we do whatever we can to support them,” Head coach John Sabel said.“If you are a high school-age male resident residing in Bernards Township, we would be happy to talk to you about joining – no experience required!”

The season goes from March to June with games on Sunday mornings and practices on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Ridge plays in Division II against competitors such as Bridgewater, Monmouth, Jersey City, Morris, Union and more.
