BERNARDS TWP., NJ - Each holiday season, Santa delivers gifts a little early in Bernards Township - and he does so because he personally wants to help support the Basking Ridge and Liberty Corner fire company volunteers continue to serve their community all throughout the year.

Now is the time for area residents to sign up for Santa to arrive at their home on Saturday, Dec. 23 - on a fire engine, for a memorable delivery of pre-chosen gifts for their families.

Those families who chose to participate should bring a pre-wrapped and clearly marked gift for each child in to receive the gift, and a $60 donation per family made out to the fire company that serves their area.

As many residents know, there are two fire companies in Bernards Township: the Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1; and the Liberty Corner Fire Company.

Residents can identify their correct fire company by the name on the Annual Fund Drive solicitation they receive in the mail; Basking Ridge serves the northern part of the township, while Liberty Corner serves other areas, including The Hills and Liberty Corner village. Gift deliveries without Santa are also available.

"Did you also know that both of these organizations are 'all-volunteer' and responsible for raising the majority of their own funds?" asks the publicity for the annual event released by both fire companies.

Santa knows this! "And each year, he does his best to help raise money for the fire departments by hitching a ride on a fire truck and delivering holiday gifts to children’s homes," according to the fire companies.

Those protected by the Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 are asked to please deliver their gifts to that firehouse at 30 Washington Avenue from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11,
or from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18.

Those residents served by the Liberty Corner Fire Company are asked to please deliver their gifts to that firehouse at 95 Church Street from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Dec. 17,
or between 7 to 9 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 20.

For further information, contact the Basking Ridge Fire Company visit their website at www.brfco.com or email: santa@brfco.com; to reach Liberty Corner Fire Company, visit their website at www.libertycornerfire.org/santa.

The fire companies wish their towns a safe and happy holiday season.
