School Retirements, Resignations, Hirings and More Personnel Changes OK'd by BOE

BERNARDS TWP., NJ - The Bernards Township Board of Education accepted three staffers’ retirements among personnel changes approved at its May 7 meeting. 

Giving notice were Joanne Arvay, secretary in special services, and instructional aides Alexis Carola at Liberty Corner School and Christine Sosanie at Mount Prospect School.

The board also accepted the resignation at term’s end of Mairead Chern, an instructional support teacher at Mount Prospect School.

The board approved child care leave starting in the fall for Annette Franco, a Grade 5 teacher at Cedar Hill School, and Katherine Puopolo, a special education teacher at Mount Prospect School.

Ann Kay was hired as an instructional support teacher at Liberty Corner School as a maternity leave replacement. Jessica Boyle and Belinda Kennelly Banchken were appointed instructional aides at Liberty Corner and Cedar Hill schools, respectively. All were hired for the current school year.

Jennifer Richardson was appointed a behavioral disabilities special education teacher at Cedar Hill School for the remainder of the current year, as well as for the 2018-19 school year.

At Ridge High School, Christopher Haines was hired as a per-diem social studies teacher as a medical leave replacement.

Anita DeAngelis was hired as a school nurse and Robin Wells as a math teacher, both at Ridge High School for 2018-19.
