Bird programs will be offered by the Somerset County Park Commission at its Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.
From 8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, adults can join a naturalist on the trails at the EEC to experience the nighttime fall migration of warblers, tanagers, orioles, thrushes and sparrows as they travel south over New Jersey.
The walk is free and registration is not required.
“The Great Swamp Experience,” on the lower level at the EEC, features interactive displays, vignettes, taxidermy, and archeological artifacts highlighting the history and ecology of the Great Swamp. The exhibit is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Entertaining and educational programs for children and adults are presented year around at the Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.
