SOMERVILLE, NJ - There are now seven confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Bernards Township as of Wednesday, March 25, according to a release from the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders. Neighboring communities in the Somerset Hills, except for Far Hills, all have reported confirmed cases as well.
Somerset County reported 38 new cases overnight.
The Somerset County Department of Health confirmed the death of a Bridgewater resident and a Franklin resident on Sunday. There have been no additional deaths.
Here is the latest breakdown of confirmed cases by town: Bernards Township, 7; Bedminster, 6; Bernardsville, 6; Branchburg, 11; Bridgewater, 14; Bound Brook, 3: Franklin, 30; Green Brook, 5; Hillsborough, 11; Manville, 4; Montgomery, 10; North Plainfield, 11; Peapack-Gladstone, 2; Raritan, 3; Somerville, 3; South Bound Brook, 1; Warren, 10; Watchung, 3.
No cases have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
Statewide, there is a total of 6,375 cases, with 62 confirmed deaths, an increase of 18 overnight. There were 736 new cases reported overnight, down from 846 new cases reported overnight on Tuesday, according to the state Department of Health.
There are 60,115 cases in the United States, with 827 deaths; worldwide, there are 451,355 cases and 20,499 deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
