BERNARDS TWP., NJ - It's not too late - children of all ages and reading abilities still have a chance to join the Bernards Township Library's Summer Reading Club through Saturday, Aug. 5.
The library's Summer Reading Club invites participants to read anything they and their parents want. The reading can be done anywhere - at the library, at home, or even on vacation.
Each child will receive a reading log. The log is used to keep track of the child's reading and let them earn rewards through the program.
There are three levels to choose from:
Read to Me: For children who are not yet reading or are beginning readers.
Independent Reader: For children who are reading on their own.
Tween: For children entering grades 5 and 6.
There is also a Teen Summer Reading program at the library that runs through Aug. 31.
Sign ups continue until Saturday, August 5. Visit the library at 32 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge. The children's library can be reached at 908-204-3031, ext. 3, and the library website is at www.bernardslibrary.org.
In addition to the reading club, the library has many fun activities planned this summer.
Participants should check the library's childrens' events calendar for the latest updates and registration dates for different programs and activities.
