Softball: Ridge Advances with 7-5 Win Over Elizabeth


BASKING RIDGE, NJ - Ridge overcame a four-run deficit after four innings, rallying for a 7-5 softball victory over Elizabeth Monday in the first round of the Section 2, Group 4 state tournament on Monday.

Mia Robb pitched five innings of three-hit relief, allowing one run and no walks, to gain the victory in relief for Ridge (15-7), which erased a 4-0 deficit with four runs in the fifth inning, then took a lead with three runs in the sixth.

Allegra Decandia went 2-for-3 and Annabelle Hamilton and Kristin Miscia each singled in two runs for the Red Devils. Lauren Lusardi also rapped a run-scoring single in the victory.
