ANNANDALE, NJ - North Hunterdon scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Ridge softball team, 3-2, in the quarterfinal round of the Section 2, Group 4 state tournament on Wednesday.

Ridge (15-8) scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but managed just three hits overall against the Lions (21-4).

The Red Devils scored both of their runs on home runs, one each from Allegra Decandia and Kristin Miscia. Decandia had two of Ridge's three hits.

Mia Robb pitched a strong game in the loss, striking out six, walking two and allowing seven hits in 8 1/3 innings.
