Somerset County Busines Partnership Offers Group Health Plan for Members

The Somerset County Business Partnership is now offering group health insurance coverage to member businesses, according to Mike Kerwin, SCBP president..

 BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Group health insurance is now available to member businesses of the Somerset County Business Partnership.

The Business Partnership, which serves as central New Jersey’s Chamber of Commerce, has entered into an affinity partnership with Chadler Solutions giving member businesses the opportunity to apply for group health insurance coverage for employees and their families, according to Mike Kerwin, SCBP president and CEO.

“One of our goals as a member-driven organization is to provide business resources to our members that are otherwise not readily available,” explained Kerwin. “We have been searching for the right program since the ACA and recent marketplace changes have allowed us to offer our members plans that may provide improved benefits at reduced costs.”

Prior to reorganizing as the Business Partnership, the Somerset County Chamber of Commerce offered group health coverage to members as part of a multi-employer plan, allowing member businesses to realize savings and providing access to coverage.

The program was discontinued when the state passed healthcare reform legislation changing the rules in the early 1990’s. Recent regulatory changes have brought rise to a resurgence of these plans enabling organizations to offer group plans to members.
The current plans are available to sole proprietors, husband/wife groups, partnerships, and other businesses that may not be meeting general participation requirements.
Features of the Business Partnership Group Health Insurance plan include:
*  A choice of 8 PPO plans utilizing Cigna’s National PPO Network or Magnacare
* Office visits, ER, Urgent Care, and prescriptions not subject to deductibles on 7 plans;

* No referrals;

* No participation requirements;

* Strong prescription coverage;

* Multiple plan options available;

* All plans are Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliant;

* Coverage is available in or out of network;

* Dental benefits;

Chadler Solutions president Scott Rappoport is a longtime member of the Chamber/Partnership and has been providing employee benefit and financial services to employers and businesses since 1984.
