As a cause-driven organization, the Y supports youth development and seeks to nurture the potential of all children. All camp options reinforce the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

“We are excited for a summer full of fun, learning, enrichment and great summer memories,” said Kim DeZutter, Senior Director of Family Services. “Our goal is provide children with a safe, stimulating, nurturing environment where they feel encouraged to learn, grow and thrive all summer long.”

This summer, the Y is excited to be collaborating with the historic Jacobus Vanderveer House in Bedminster to hold a new, two-week archaeology camp. Kids in the second to sixth grade, who are keen to explore, will delight in the chance to investigate the world of archaeology dating back to the American Revolution.

For those who prefer sports, a new Lacrosse/Baseball Camp for first through third graders will teach the fundamentals of two very popular sports, as well as keep campers active and engaged. Other sports camps include Soccer/Sports Fusion, Soccer and Baseball.

Campers can also look forward to the return of our more popular programs, such as Fashion Design, a two-week introduction to the world of fashion that culminates in a day trip to the Garment District in Manhattan. And, the always popular Adventure Camp, Fine Arts, Digital Media and Performing Arts camps also will be returning, while our Explorers Camp for older teens will be open to sixth graders this year for adventures to the beach, water parks, state parks and more.

Y camps run from June 22 through August 28. Visit the Y’s website at to find the Y’s Camp Guide with details on all camp options, as well as registration information. An account must be set up in order to register for camp.
To ensure that all kids have the opportunity to go to camp, Somerset Hills YMCA offers financial assistance to families in need.

Nationally, the Y has been a leader in providing summer camp for 129 years. At the Somerset Hills YMCA, parents can expect their children to spend a fun, enriching summer with a caring staff who model positive values that help build character.

The Y’s summer camp program is voluntarily accredited by the American Camp Association, which means it meet the highest set of standards for camps in the nation. It means the Y complies with up to 300 health, safety and program quality standards set by the ACA.
