BASKING RIDGE, NJ – The Basking Ridge Business Alliance is pleased to announce that Tony  Award winner, Laura Benanti (Supergirl, Younger) will lead a sing-along at the Virtual Holiday  Kickoff and Christmas Tree Lighting on November 28. 

The BRBA is excited to have Ms. Benanti join the virtual celebration. The community can watch  the event via livestream at and celebrate the start of the holidays, together, from  their homes.

• 9 a.m.-noon: The Basking Ridge Volunteer Fire Department will set up and trim the  Christmas Tree. 

• 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m: There will be greetings from the Mayor and local businesses, holiday  music by local performers and the tree lighting countdown. Some portions will be pre recorded. 

Ms. Benanti will join the 4:30-5:30 portion of the virtual event and lead a sing-along of holiday  favorites. The community is encouraged to participate and post photos and videos of  themselves singing along on social media using the hashtag #BRsingalong.   

Ms. Benanti has received five Tony Award nominations and won the 2008 Tony Award for her  performance in “Gypsy.” She starred on Broadway in 13 shows including “She Loves Me” and  “My Fair Lady.” She has also starred in many television shows including Supergirl, Nashville,  Younger and the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot for HBOMAX. She is also the executive producer  of the upcoming musical documentary Homeschool Musical: Class of 2020 which will air mid December. She just released a self-titled album for Sony records. Ms. Benanti is the daughter in-law of beloved local Coldwell Banker realtor and community member Lisa Brown.
