BERNARDS TWP., NJ _ Excellent singing, dancing and a talented ensemble of local actors marked Trilogy Repertory's production of the musical "Brigadoon," which is set for two final performances on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 9 and 10.

"Brigadoon" had opened the Basking Ridge-based theater company's residence at the brand new Fellowship Cultural Arts Center on July 26. The new theater and community center at Fellowship Village senior living off Allen Road was opened with Trilogy's support.

Next production planned at Fellowship center is 'The Fantasticks'

Trilogy will next be performing "The Fantasticks" on Sept. 19 to 22 at the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center, Henri Barre, Trilogy's treasurer and theater developer, said this week.

Information on that performance and other upcoming performances, and ticket orders are available on the Fellowship Cultural Arts Center website.

Two more performances set for this weekend

"Brigadoon," a Lerner & Loewe musical that debuted on Broadway in 1947, is set to return twice more this weekend for 8 p.m. performances at the outdoors amphitheater at Pleasant Valley Park off Valley Road in Basking Ridge.

The play's leads are Jessica Albano of Bridgewater as Fiona; David Rittenhouse of Califon as Tommy; Joseph Schmidt of Bedminster as Jeff; and Claire Dempsey of Morristown as Meg.  There are 17 cast members from Basking Ridge, Bernardsville and Far Hills in various roles, as featured dancers and in the ensemble, Barre said.

Performances are free, but donations are appreciated, according to Trilogy, which each summer produces the 'Plays in the Park' series in cooperation with the Bernards Township Parks & Recreation department.

There is seating in the amphitheater, but some 'Plays in the Park' theatergoers bring their own chairs, along with flashlights and picnics.
